Creators : - Eddie Risdal : Guitars,Vokills,Bass,Drum Programs, Kjell-Ivar Aarli : Bass And Vocals Oyvind Rosseland : Synthesizers For everyone who have just clicked in here to read the review for Ancestral Legacy's next release, have ull read the review of their previous demo " Ancestral Legacy - Ancestral Legacy ",?. Anyways, this is their second effort and its taken a years time to get this cd properly fixed up. Atmospheric Black Metal added up with aggression, is what this Norwegian horde comes out with. In the previous review i did mention that i was looking forward to their next contribution and here it is, it hasnt really failed my expectations! A gathering of 3 tracks from the earlier demo, supplemented by new works thats 6 of them gives us this complete demo entitled "Emptiness". Right then, the cd starts off with a intro, sounding very much of a stormy weather together with audible screams in the background, backs me up with the waves of Limbonic Art. This time, Eddie Risdal , who remains..... the backbone for A.L., has churned around with his potentialities in diversifying and giving the cd a complete intense image. The music generated is more raw than before and a respectable change in vocals lineup is noticed. Growls along with typical black metal shrieks is brought forward. The new track by them " Emptiness" has a majority of;the harsh vocals and its really cool to have it amidst mid tempo power riffing, and a doomy atmosphere. This was a good move. The synthesizers have been given a lot of importance, you could instantly catch the melody and the darkened feeling by getting close to the offerings of the keyjobs done earlier by other bands like Dimmu Borgir, slightly Nokturnal Mortum, and yeah Children of Bodom. Not forgetting their new track named "Posessed", starts up with keyboards sounding very much like the "Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria" track by Dimmu Borgir, but this one surely has a lot more too it, and it remains quiet fast than the others in the cd. "Whispering voices" their third unleash, i guess has most of the key work, and its just this track that annoys me a lot, but otherwise all the other tracks remain very dark, gloomy, raw, and suicidal. The drums have been programmed here, but its sounding very natural, and attacking, just the right brutal way! Sir Eddie has given his best to guitar mechanics as well, i have no idea how he manages it but he has the best of his riffing done here ,some great notes, solos in between of the tracks having the songs inclined towards melancholy and violent too, at times. "Ringer Of death" seems to be very much midpaced black metal , amazing guitar riffs and keyboard synchronizations in the end, Killer!. Last but a great track, in the entire cd," Cross the sea" is surely one of my personal favourites, its got everything, the anger and the soothing tones. The others have been undoubtly bookmarked, the jewels from their first strike. Winding it up, the entire cd remains quiet powerful. Only if the synths were reduced to the minimum replaced by bass or guitar solos, the ranking would be to its peak. Even if all you out there have missed out their earlier demo, catch hold of this one, you will not feel deprived on that! On the whole: a neverending Storm geared up with Ambience and War to its best!
